"On Monday, July 11, 2005, a dozen people gathered for half-an-hour starting at noon outside TIAA-CREF's offices in Boston's financial district. They were protesting and passing out informational fliers as part of the lead up to next week's TIAA-CREF annual shareholders meeting, where members of the Make TIAA-CREF Ethical Coalition will press TIAA-CREF, one of the country's largest pension funds, to divest from Coca-Cola, Wal-Mart and other corporations that do not do business ethically. Wal-Mart is well known for its exploitive labor practices, while Coke is guilty of a number of socially irresponsible practices, ranging from marketing junk food to children in the US to complicity with death squads in Colombia."

Members of UAW Local 259 passed a resolution to support the "Unthinkable! Undrinkable!" petition campaign directed at Coca-Cola and the divestment and boycott campaign against SunTrust Banks.

In acknowledgement of the anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Local 259 leadership begins an awareness campaign on international human rights abuses suffered by union members of SINALTRAINAL.

Demonstration supporting Colombian striking workers in front of the Colombian Consulate in New York City on Oct. 12th organized by the Professional Staff Congress-City University of New York, the AFT local of City University faculty and staff. The union emphasized that a teacher is murdered every two weeks in Colombia. The PSC-CUNY has been very supportive of the Campaign to Stop Killer Coke. The Campaign also supported and participated in the demonstration.
